This isn’t a bad thing necessarily; for most people 21 inches can provide a comfortable and effective workout, regardless of height. If you do want to get a machine with a variable stride length though, the Yowza Fitness Captiva will fit your needs better.

Even though you can’t adjust the length of your stride, you can reverse the direction of the motion using the machine’s rear drive capability. This change in movement works out different muscles and also keeps your body guessing.

Other Features

The display is bright and clear, though, even though it isn’t colorful, and it is easy to interact with the display and program in your workout. The machine measures your heart rate in one of two ways. Either you can wear the Polar® transmitter belt, which wirelessly communicates your heart rate to the machine, or you can just let the sensors embedded in the handlebars tell the machine what your heart rate is.

Another great feature on the Yowza Sanibel (also included on the Captiva) is the three-speed cooling fan.

This allows you to cool off just as much as you need to and keep working out without overheating. The result is a longer, harder workout without the discomfort or exhaustion.

Flywheel-Less Design

The inner workings of the Yowza Sanibel don’t include a flywheel; instead the machine uses an electromagnetic system to provide resistance.

Usually these systems are loud, but in the case of the Sanibel you will experience silent, amazing performance to rival that of any flywheel system. If you do prefer a system with a flywheel, then check into the Captiva.
